We are seeking archival (past, present, and future) materials for a queer agricultural and land stewardship publication!
While queer and trans folks have been integral in stewarding this fertile valley for decades, there is currently almost no documentation of our contribution to the region’s agricultural industry. When we are out in the fields, distributing food from barns and truck beds, cooking for one another, and planning through seasons, who are we becoming? Do we have a historical context for ourselves? A healthy soil of a pervasive past—a way to see ourselves in the world and with the land? Can we imagine our futures? This publication is an attempt to ponder these questions and uplift our joy, our labor, and our voices!

Send in your recipes, your poems, your grievances, your gratitude. We are interested in you—your work, lives, and relationships to land. Interview the butch down the street who’s been collecting old tractors and cultivating willow for baskets since the 70s. Have a photoshoot with your farm crew, with your livestock, with your farm dogs, with your crops. Make a block print from a potato. Talk about land access. Describe your farm tool tinkering, your hacks, and inventions. Only limitations are: 1000 words as a doc or pdf or 5 images as a jpeg or pdf (5.5x8.5 page dimensions).
